A New Interview with Jim Steinmeyer

Postby SCobalt » November 12th, 2010, 1:32 pm

A couple of days ago I had the wonderful opportunity to chat with Jim Steinmeyer. What was supposed to be an hour and a half interview turned into an almost two and a half hour interview!

Wow!

Big thank you to Jim Steinmeyer for taking the time.

If you'd like to listen to the interview you can check it out here:

Great question Richard.

We talked about Morritt, Wakeling, Thurston, Devant, Jarrett, designing the big illusions like the Statue of Liberty Vanish, the future of magic, illusions for the new illusionist, the evolution of some of Jim's illusions, Jim's process, Jim's near death experience while working with Doug Henning, etc.

That's just off the top of my head but there is over 2 hours of interview!

The first half, which is an hour long, is posted on the above blog. The full interview is going to be emailed out to my mailing list at 4pm EST today and for anyone who doesn't see this link in time I will email out the interview again next week.

If anyone wants to hear the full version they can sign up for the mailing list here:

Jim is always very generous with his time. Over the years I have done several interviews with Jim for my podcast and they total almost 5 hours. Well done!

Great interview!!!. I liked the way you had prepared to ask Jim great questions. This is one of the most informative interviews I had heard him give. Thanks.

I look forward to checking out this interview...

Just want to add that one question I have always wanted to ask Jim about is how he came up with his NINE CARD PRINCIPLE? I would love to hear what sort of convoluted thinking went into making such an elegant discovery...

Joe, Jim's first version of the nine-card principle involved a full deck and was published in Tony Andruzzi's Invocation magazine a long time ago! Start by reading that. :)
