Because so many people enjoyed watching the video of "Del Ray's Baffling Dice" that I posted recently, I thought that I'd share some additional tidbits of him that I have courtesy of Joe Hanosek. In this clip, we get a few minutes of Del Ray performing close-up at a country club in the early 1980's. I hope that you enjoy watching these as I post them as much as I have!

Del Ray was at Two of the 4F week-ends that I was fortunate to have been , too.
Not only was he superb in his regular close-up sessions, but in some of the
intimate get togethers he would show his handling of Tenyo's Zig-Zag Cigarette
or the Bounce No Bounce balls. He had such a delightful manner in all he did and few could entertain a group of magicians or lay-people as Del Ray. He was one of the very best.

It's too bad the audio is completely out of synch because that video is much better than the one from the Tannen Jubilee at showing Del before his decline.

The copy that I have is fine with regard to the audio. It is approx 1.5 Hours long. I dunno why the audio got out of sync when uploaded to youtube. I'll try reloading it here and to Vimeo and we will see what happens.

He no longer sells the DVD--he didn't have the rights to it.

I was wondering where this came from. It appears to be a home video.

Richard, I had no idea that rights were involved when I bought it. However, I cherish this performance since I'd never seen him work. I can see where Don Alan might have picked up a little on his persona.

Just watched it again, and I have to say, even with the audio slightly out of sync, it is still great!

I'll try and have a better version online asap.

Dodd (or anyone else) in the dice routine clip in the first post, is that Jimmy Grippo sitting next to Harry Lorayne? Who is the guy sitting on Dick Cavett's right who throws the dice around the middle of the clip?
