IMS Award
The 2010 Merlin Award, the Oscar equivalent for the magic industry, was presented to producers Paul Reder and Tony Clark during the opening night of their new show Masters of Magic at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa (http://www.montbleuresort.com). Tony Hassini, founder of the International Magicians Society the worlds largest and most respected society in the magic genre, presented the Merlin Award, Wednesday, Aug. 4.
When I want your opinion, I'll give it to you

Re: IMS Award
Love this bit "Every three years, the International Magicians Society hosts an awards program recognizing the top achievers in their craft with the coveted Merlin Award."
Does this mean we might get a break from Merlin presentations for the next couple of years?

Re: IMS Award
I hate when folks I otherwise respect belittle themselves by accepting this award.

"the world's largest and most respected magic society"?

Re: IMS Award
Hey, Tim, isn't it time you won "Greatest Magician Ever In the History of the World THIS YEAR AND FOR THE NEXT HUNDRED YEARS" for the next three years running?

I don't understand how Tim could get that award when I was awarded it just last week?
Re: IMS Award
Wow ........... With all the latest news surrounding her , I thought Charlotte Pendragon would have been the winner of the famed Merlin award ????

Re: IMS Award
I still want to know what the going price is ? Does the IMS charge more if you want to make up your own award ? Or do you get a discount if you opt to receive an 'off the shelf' trophy ?
Tim - has anyone been awarded "Best Australian Magician of the Century" - if not, you may be charged a premium ( and it's a long flight to Australia, too )

She was the original winner, but she refused the accept when the organisers told her they needed 10k to get the award out of storage.
Thank you very much. I'll be here all week.
