I spoke to Gordon earlier this month, and he is still recuperating from his hip replacement. He sdounded great, though.

Not the best piece of journalism I've been involved with...
A one hour photo shoot followed by a two hour conversation about the skill and dedication needed to be a professional magician was cut down into nine lines that made me sound like a bitter hack living on benefits. Peter said he wanted to hear the jargon we use, what it's like to have a job like this and we talked a lot about practicing and the types of people who become magicians.
In hindsight I can see a few flags - although he never mentioned that the article was to be about 'magicians in crisis' he did keep coming back to how there were few public performing opportunities. Given the title of the piece he needed a 'magician in crisis' and that turned out to be me. I suppose it's a good thing they didn't run my photo; I was hoping this would vanish into the ether...
