A sad note (quote) from Milt Larsen,
"Luigi, the parrot and the best part of Dana Daniels act, passed away yesterday at the brunch shows. He had been with Dana for 29 years. In the best show business tradition, he gave his last for his last performance. Our sympathies with Dana and his family. Aloha Luigi."
My sincerest condolences to Dana. Luigi brought me so much laughter and was a great sleight of beak performer, bar none.

From Dana's Facebook page
"It's with a broken heart that I share with you the passing of my little friend and partner Luigi the Psychic Parrot. He died of natural causes yesterday back stage at the Magic Castle in my arms. Luigi was 29 years old and has been in my family for past 28 years. I have been performing across this great country with Luigi for the last 27 years starting with our first performance on January 28, 1983 in the It's Amazing show at Cal State Long Beach.
I would like to thank everyone at the Magic Castle for their help and compassion during this difficult day. I would also like to thank Jack Goldfinger Entertainment director for the Magic Castle for performing a broken wand ceremony in honor of Luigi.
The Show must go on! Although it was difficult, I completed my last two shows at the Castle with Luigi's understudy Cosmo. It was his first time in front of an audience and he did a wonderful job."

Re: Luigi
Having owned two parrots in my life I know how one can become attached to them. My condolences to Dana.

Re: Luigi
How awful. Don't parrots usually have something like a 60-plus year lifespan?

Man, so sad to read this. He took Luigi everywhere . R. I. P .Luigi
Re: Luigi
I think Luigi was an Amazon and they top out at 45 or so years. Generally the smaller the parrot the shorter the lifespan.
Nice to have honored him with a broken wand. Curious if that was the first one done for an animal.

I'll apologise in advance, however this would have appeared sooner or later.
I like to think Luigi would have approved...

Too soon.

Re: Luigi
I heard about this early this morning from some friends at the Castle. It's truly too soon and I feel for Dana. I've heard some fun stories about Luigi so I think I'll smile instead of the alternative.

Re: Luigi
Sorry to hear of the news. I've had parrots and they make great buddies. I do think what the breeders give for life spans is a little exagerated.

Re: Luigi
I have a neighbor next door who has a Chinese chicken and he carries the thing around like a puppy. Very funny :)
Very sorry to hear about Luigi.

My deepest sympathies.
Our Rainbow Lorikeets Sparks & Bandit aren't part of the show, but like Luigi, they're part of the family.
I can imagine how Dana feels.
