January Issue of Genii Now in the Mail

Postby Richard Kaufman » December 14th, 2009, 3:05 pm

The January issue of Genii is now on it's way to you.

The 11th Los Angeles Conference on Magic History is the cover story of our January issue, with full coverage of every aspect of this unique event. My goal: to make you feel as if you are there.

Also this month we have an excerpt from the new 17-pound Taschen book on the history (and graphics) of magic, with text by Jim Steinmeyer and images from around the world. You'll want to purchase it immediately.

Jim Steinmeyer also contributes a terrific illusion that didn't make the final cut in his new book "Technique And Understanding"--something that plays big and won't cost you a fortunate to build and perform.

Clay Shevlin and Joan Lawton contribute memorial pieces on, respectively, John Booth and Carl Ballantine.

We also have a new installment in Roberto Giobbi's The Genii Session; a full Magicana from David Acer including the first in a new series of columns on mentalism from Max Maven; and reviews of books, tricks, and videos by Jamy Swiss, Danny Orleans, and Dustin Stinett.

Give a shout here when you get your copy!

Shouting from Wichita! Just got it in the mail today. Can't wait to read about the Los Angeles Conference. And the other features sound great.

Did I miss something? Richard's initial post mentioned an illusion by Jim Steinmeyer that didn't make the cut of "Technique and Understanding".

I know there was one such illusion in the December issue, but I don't see one here.

There was only one illusion, and it appeared in the December issue. Nothing in January.
