Mark Lewis is a terribly misunderstood fellow. My fear is that his true genius will not be recognized during his lifetime. Really, some people have no sense of humor.

It is entirely correct that after a single viewing of the Mark Lewis Hypnosis Course, I performed a most successful show that was filmed by National Geographic TV and has since been broadcast many times. (Although for some weird reason they chose to use the footage in a show about UFOs!)

If you are interested in performing hypnosis, I highly recommend you dig out the tapes and watch them again.

I hear his psychic course is equally excellent, but until he sends me a copy for review as he once promised, I am unable to add any comments.

Sorry for the further distraction, but my name was mentioned earlier and I did want to clear up any confusion about the quality of information in Mark's hypnosis course.

Anyway, back to Blackpoo. I am sure it will be a wonderful venue. I have fond memories of attending an NUS conference there when I was a student. Memories not so much of the conference, but of the succession of local lovelies I entertained in my hotel room that week. A truly magical place.

Best,
James

I wish to apologize to Nick Morton's wife.

I'm sorry.

I do not know you. I did not know Nick Morton was married.

I was making what I thought was a joke about what was this terrible thing Tim Ellis did to deserve the letter he got from your husband.

That it was taken seriously is something I can't explain as I thought the exageration was pretty obvious. But I am sorry for any offense or hurt feelings.

I will change my ways and not refer to people's wives ever again.

Again, my apologies.

No, from a contributor.

Unless that contributor was Mr Lewis. But I doubt he has the photoshop chops tbh.

I was not aware of Mark Lewis until this thread.

Apparently his is a "Famous Irish Psychic" (who makes over $200 per hour!)

An exciting Children's Entertainer for over 30 years:

who sells a course in hypnotism for only $287.95

He is even profiled in the press here http://www.thestar.com/News/GTA/article/557633 where he says his psychic consultation business has doubled and ironically "Sometimes I feel that the best financial advice I can give to people is to be careful how you spend your money with psychics," he says.

It seems his is incredibly multi-talented and has so much to offer!

Why don't we see him headlining more magic conventions? (Obviously we can't get him for events here in Australia as we are all "descended from convicts" and "a danger to society", but perhaps he'd consider returning to Blackpool for FISM? I'm sure he'd be quite the attraction!)

Seems Tim has some sort of free-pass here on the Genii forum.

His flaming and baiting of Mark seems far in excess of anything Mark posted here, yet Mark gets the boot and Tim stays?

Double standards seem a bit dirty when viewed up close.

There is no double standard. Mark wore out his welcome here long ago and has had more last chances than Steve Howe.

When it comes to baiting and flaming, compared to Mark Lewis, Tim Ellis is a rank amateur.

I have been asked by Mark Lewis to post here on his behalf (He along with Carl have been banned from the forum for a month!!)

From: mark lewis

Posted: Mon Sep 14, 2009 7:11 pm
Subject: Re: Carl
It seems that I was wrong about Carl being Kevin. The real culprit was named Kevin Priestley. I have sent a message to Carl apologising and will put the matter right on Talk Magic. I am now banned (as is Carl) from the Genii forum so cannot apologise there. Perhaps you could do me a favour and pass on my apologies to Carl on the Genii Forum and explain that I now realise that I was wrong.

However the photos look the spitting image of Kevin and I haven't quite figured that out yet. I accept that it isn't Carl though

I have a forum rule of "~Read a lot, post a little~" but I have to comment on this thread. Holy smokes, this is better than most movies I've seen lately!

International intrigue, accusations, legitimate wrongdoings, mysterious red-headed culprits, cross dressing djs, hypnotists, etc.

Not to encourage anyone, but this is fantastic!

I like Mark Lewis. He has oodles of wisdom hidden beneath that iconoclastic, cantankerous facade. The lessons he learned from Fogel are truly priceless, and his Svengali pitch is solid.

Actually when reading Glorious Deception I was allways thinking, what thrilling times with all that intrigues and crimes.
But it seems that in old England not much has changed since then ;-)

Time for Steinmeyer to collect material for his bookin 10 Years:

"Banning the Lever" ;-)

Some found it personally offensive Pete, which was not my intent, and to whom I offered my apology.

My intent was to comment on how (with a few exceptions) Mark Lewis is treated by the magic community as a whole.

I failed to make my point.

Also, I'm a guest here like most others, and what I think about how the site is moderated is irrelevant.

I dont think its a secret who felt slighted by Rogers post. Occasionally being slow on the uptake is just one of my faults. Roger and I had a nice PM chat. I think were on the same page and I appreciate that.

And you can bet the bank that Mark Lewis is quite pleased that a thread about Derek Lever has turned into one about him. The man is a phenomenon.

Create disorder in their forces and take them ... If they are substantial, prepare for them ... If they are angry, perturb them ... be deferential to foster their arrogance ... If they are rested, force them to exert themselves ... If they are united, cause them to be separated. Sun-tzu, The Art of War...

Disorder, anger, ...chaos........Good job, Mark.

I must admit that 'Ron's day' (International Magic Convention) is possibly a hidden gem from a lot of overseas magicians. The standard is always very high and for the last few years there have been some great surprises, like the well kept secret interview with Uri Geller last year. Well worth considering. IMHO....

Sadly I am working during the Blackpool weekend next year so I won't be there, shame coz I need to tap up a dealer for another Jerry O'Connel Wallet..... ;-)

Anyone reading this thread in the future will note that it gets a bit choppy on pages 2 and 3. That's because I've just deleted a large batch of posts between "Blackpool" (alias Mark Lewis) and Carl DeRome. The reason is that Mark Lewis was incorrect in his accusations that Carl DeRome stole from him, and has admitted this. For legal reasons those messages have been expunged. But because I don't feel like wasting another hour on this stupidity, I have not edited other messages that refer to them. So if you don't understand part of what's going on, don't worry about it. It was of no importance anyway.

Bravo, Mr. Kaufman!

It was getting tiresome. I am obviously new to the forum, although I have been a subscriber to Genii for several years (and a reader for many more). I do have things to post, but I had to get started somewhere. This, sadly, was where I made my start.

That "Lady D" comment was intersting, though. Who is Dereck? She deserves to know.

Well, he was Duane's brother. They had a band called The Dominos. One of them is dead now, but another brother named Greg still has a band. He calls it The Dominos Brothers Band, even though he's the only brother.

They are from Jacksonville, but they like to pretend that they are from Georgia. That's part of the former USSR (which we're back in, and you don't know how lucky you are). This all-man band is still pretty good. Hope that answers your question, Lady D.

Now, on to bigger and better things.

Just a follow up on the email I received from President of the Australian Society of Magicians, Nick Morton, telling me I was banned from all club events.

The hot gossip being spread around town is "Tim Ellis has been publishing private correspondence from Nick Morton on the internet."

Though true in some ways, it was one email and his legal disclaimer gave me the right to publish it, I find it poor form that the outrage is not that I was banned, but that I apparently breach other people's right to privacy.

Nick has managed to keep my banning a secret from the club (it is not to be mentioned in the club magazine) and somehow this very carefully worded gossip has circulated to damage my character.

I assume this will be later used as evidence as to why he was right to ban me...

I don't hold any standing in the Magical Community in Cape Town or South Africa and probably my name is blacked by my recent Facebook link to some Greek Magician. After reading all of this, I find myself asking this question: why does magic always end up in a political and personal space? What ever happened to "promote the magical arts" and having a "brotherhood" in the true sense of the word?

HAHA I liked that article about money making as a psychic.

Bottom line Mark Lewis is FAIL.
