The Page Boy Speaks--(Patrick Page interview)

Postby Bill Brunelle » May 11th, 2009, 8:20 am

I've always thought Patrick Page's thoughts about creating and performing were especially useful, so I prodded him into letting me do these 4 short clips with him right after Fechter's.

Although the topic is magical performance, I think quite a bit of it is relevant to mentalism. If you enjoy them, despite my first outing with a Flip MinoHD, please post a comment on YouTube.

All the best,

Bill Brunelle

Grab a cup of coffee and watch all four. One is struck by his clear thinking and direct, uncluttered focus on 'the performance'.

Any info on time frame of the book's publisher, release, etc?

Thanks for posting these, Bill - there is much wisdom here.

Glad you liked them Jim. I find Pat's thinking on almost anything--magic, mentalism, life, relationships, etc.--to be totally refreshing and direct. I've been on the road with him several times for his lecture tours, and he is truly a great human being. He just also happens to, as Jay Marshall and Charles Reynolds have said, know more magic than anyone on the planet.

This was an off-the-cuff experiment that Pat and I did, and I hope we'll do something more comprehensive the next time.

Regarding his book, it's pretty much all written. He now has to get the photos and/or illustrations done. There's no set timetable, but I know he really wants to get it done.

All the best,

Bill

Pat is the greatest. I can't wait to see it.

I hope the photos are taken soon!

Thanks to Bill Brunelle for all he does to bring Patrick Page to these shores, including the prospective book. Mr. Page is arguably the world's greatest living authority on conjuring and everything related to conjuring. This book will be an important contribution to the literature, and I hope it will convey his distinctive ability to amaze with simplicity.

With all due respect to John Thompson, I'd have to say Pat Page knows even more than Carney. And Carney is a god.

Hey Britain, how come this national treasure of a man hasn't been knighted?
