Whos' Going To Today's Magic Auction?

Postby Kevin Connolly » July 27th, 2008, 1:51 am

With the auction about seven hours from now, I was wondering if we could get some feedback from it.

I need a Houdini fix, so I'll be playing by phone.

Good Luck to all,
Kevin

If you don't want your Mom to hit the ceiling, tell her you bought something when she's outside the house. ;)

I'm mixed up on the time of this thing to start. The web site says now and Ebay states in 6 hours from now. That could make some hit the ceiling. :)

I'm watching it live on ebay now. Prices seem very reasonable.

The prices are stable. The prices seemed to have dropped a little, but the bottom hasn't fallen out. Nothing really off the charts, except, maybe, the lots with hundreds of pieces. They usually have the sleepers in them. ;)

Is there a way to see lots that have already sold? I missed the end of one I wanted to see.

Kevin, for the Houdini lots, the auctioneer basically enjoyed a few "quiet" minutes while the internet, and phone people duked it out...very little bidding from the room. I came away saying that the recession hasn't hit the magic collectors just yet.

Max,

Thanks for the info. If it was quiet there, it sure sounded loud when I was on the phone. One of my bids wasn't even heard by the caller. No problem as there is always something in Houdini someone is selling.

The recession hasn't seem to affect prices from what I saw. Or the half dozen malls I passed by on Saturday. The parking lots were packed.:)

The recession may start hitting a little when the guys get their credit card bills next month from Louisville.

Yep! You have to give two forms of identification, a thumb print, your blood type and a note from home saying that your mother or wife has authorized the purchase, though.

Just kidding.
