Fechters

Postby Guest » June 7th, 2003, 7:32 am

Well, how do I put this...I am seeking advice on how to go about finding sponsorship to attend Fetchers next year. I live in the Naperville area, which is close to Chicago, but I very rarely travel into the city. There are not a lot of magicians near where I live, or none that I know of. Any suggestions?

I take you mean Fechter's? The FFFF convention. As far as I am aware, you can't get sponsorship as it's invitation only. You need to be invited to attend your first convention by Obie O'Brien.

Maybe the 'FFFFers' here can confirm?

Best Wishes

Yes, you must be invited.
After you are invited, you must find two people who have already attended to sponser you.

Actually, you must get 2 sponsers first...then you get invited. After that, it's first come first serve.

Mike...a guy who never gets an invite

Hey, Mikey, why don't you and I petition for an invite next year? God only knows if I don't go where the buffaloes roam I'll probably never see your crazy left-handed ass again.

How about it Obie? Gallo and Latta. Hide the daughters and waitresses.

Best,

Geoff

I'm sure there are a lot of people who are deserving to go, but don't get to. Do you think doing magic on a national TV show would get you an invite to his convention? How do you go about it if you aren't in the inner circle of magicians?

PS- Do you think Obie even reads these boards anyways?

If Gallo gets to go then I should be allowed to attend as well. Who am I kidding....I can't even get a sponser for a 12 step program.

Naw, probably not...but maybe some one who knows him is reading this and they could put in a word for Geoff and I!

After considerable (five seconds) thought... here's the deal. :whack:

We get about 300 of us that Obie ain't never invited... we fly in, and take over. :whack:

Take no prisoners. Kill 'em all (with our 3 Flies and Holdouts)... then change it to GGGG (one step better than FFFF). :whack:

OK? :whack:

Pete B:

I'm in with your plan. I've never been invited to Fechters but my wife's mom is from Buffalo so I figure I should visit the ancestral grounds, eh?

I'll bring along my newest invention, the Card to 3 Flies, which uses a special set of pants I'm hoping to sell in a limited edition.

No one would suspect a thing, I was invited this last year but had a really great event to work and could not go. My Buddy Steve went and had a great time. I am definately making it next year. Thats when I can get the floor plan, I hear the Gallos are really cool people. I will keep you posted. shhh

My California blood nearly froze the time I went to visit Fechter (not the FFFF, but the Forks Hotel and spent time with Eddie...) I don't think Obie had even heard of him yet.

LOLLLLL
Oh thats right I knew those card things served a tiny purpose. Using only two or four cards I imagine if you just buy 1 pack that is probably more than a lifetime supply.

gallloooo sweeet charrriott how does that song go?

If the gallos play baseball do they have a Gallo pitcher? :D :D :D
