Electronic Book [Reference] Burning
Electronic Book [Reference] Burning
What to make of this? The mere mention of a certain new relatively low-profile magic book (yes, mine) results in an immediate post purge over at the Green Diner. While the rejection feels strangely validating, the sheer efficiency of these deletions is downright eerie. It's like they've got a guy assigned to follow my keystrokes. Yet I haven't been banned [yet]; just any/all references to the bloody book. Of course, there's a reason someone over there might not take kindly to the thing... but good grief. To each his/her own bubble, I suppose...

The ad copy for your book was a fun read - I placed an order.
Looking forward to reading your approach to spelling names.
And ... making a card invisible on one side.

This is almost comical. I'm getting my time and money's worth just messing with the Cafe. Latest post (in its entirety): "...posts regarding the new Firkin book of magic (at http://www.absurdulous.com) have disappeared twice without explanation. Nevertheless..."
Let's see how quickly they take it down. Mark... 9:47pm CST. (Such a child... I know...)

OK... the Cafe thrill is long gone. Buy the bloody book now so I can revel in sawbucks before someone mistakes me for a YETI cooler.

I agree with Jonathan, and just placed an order. Plus, I loved Magnum Opossum (pdf version) - the introduction alone was worth the price.

Please forgive my ignorance, because I'm not privy to the background here. But what is the reason that the admin folks at the Green Diner are deleting these threads?
Is it considered spam or blatant advertising? It seems to me that there's a lot of creators plugging their own work there, so surely it can't just be that?
My apologies in advance if this raises anything controversial - that's not at all my intent. I'm just genuinely curious and puzzled.

Some little Cafe Critter - or admin - apparently whined about the book's political tinge. After the 5th or 6th attempt (exclusive of subtitle), they finally gave up the purge.
