I guess I've got to quit trying to organize my magic or take better notes!
I recently ran across a Brinks lock which can be set to any four digit number. At one time I used this in a routine where the spectator's ring was "accidentally" locked on the lock and then there was a jumbo card routine that divined the correct number sequence to open the lock.
It actually played pretty well. I thought that it was on one of the Richard Osterlind's DVDs, but I've been unable to locate it.
Does this ring a bell with anyone here and, if so, could you point me in the right direction?
Steve

I think the routine you are looking for is on the Garrett Thomas DVD's that were put out a few years ago.

I believe that what you are looking for can be found in Larry Becker's MENTALISM FOR MAGICIANS in an effect called Ultimate Matrix. He describes how to generate the four digit number and under additional routining he talks about combining the effect with a combination lock.

You were right; it's in the "Easy to Master" series Richard did.
