Magic shops in China

Warning! Be careful when you order something from China. They have powerful advertising in internet, beautiful magic tricks at incredible prices. If something sounds too good to be true, then it is not true.

If you get your tricks, they come without any instructions. If you are unlucky like me, you can lose your money. I have been waiting for my tricks now two months and I have to wait at least one more month before I can get my money back to my PayPal account. Its over 530 dollars.

Just about any "brand name" item you get from China is an unlicensed knock off, especially magic products. I once ordered a copy of an expensive software package from a dealer in Florida, who unknown to me had imported it from China. It was an Adobe product and the packaging was identical in every way to the legitimate product but was totally counterfeit. The activation number was bogus and Adobe deactivated the program the day after I installed it. I was fortunate to get a refund.

Hopefully you will be reimbursed. On the other hand, it might just be slow delivery. It recently took seven weeks for me to receive an item from France. Regardless, it is risky business dealing with Chinese companies since their government does not enforce some of the international laws.

I stopped purchasing used DVDs a while back. Copies are all over eBay. The Lennert Green box set goes for something like $10.00. You know it's a fake. You can't be sure you're getting a used DVD mastered here in the U.S. unless the owner has an original receipt. The only thing I'd buy from China is tea.
