Happy Boxing Day

Postby Dustin Stinett » December 26th, 2010, 7:34 pm

Happy Boxing Day! If I were to guess, its a secular holiday where those in the Commonwealth smack the crap out of each other. Here in the US, we dont need a holiday for that: We have the post office, shopping malls, and the L.A. freeway system. Have fun!

What the hell is Boxing Day, anyway? And who needs another holiday the day after Christmas?

Some think of it the other way around: Christmas is a Canadian holiday before Boxing Day. ; - )

Boxing day was names because that's the day when tradesmen would collect their Crimbo bonus boxes to ensure a good service through the year. It's originally English, but spread throughout the Commonwealth.

Boxing Day. It's my favorite Holiday, and yes, it was originally English, but the truth is no one really knows exactly why it is called Boxing Day. There are several theories, none of them certain.
