Pete, is this only people who are alive? Or can we include one's who have passed away as well?

So far, the names listed are interesting and worthy. What's missing from most lists are REASONS WHY they are chosen or listed.

DEAD ONES

Stage: Dante
Parlor: Hofzinser
Close-up: Malini

Rocker... WHY?

GOOD QUESTION.... MY ANSWERS

Danalin... most unusual and original stage act, great personna, music, style... FISM Grand Prix Winner

Veronin... funniest, complete actor/magician. Originality -- if you see him in Teatro Zinzani you will see 3 hours of insane, original comedy magic.

Finn Jon... original, style, fools you (and I like the guy offstage as well for his thinking).

Del Ray... originality, entertaining, will fool the whee out of you.

Steve Freeman. CHOPS.

Steve Valentine. CHOPS, funny, and packs more magic per minute than anyone.

Tamariz. Presentation, fools you, originality.

John Carney. Mr. Mysto will have you on the floor and at same time has great chops.

Pat Page. Can go on for eleven hours and a pleasure to watch. Knowldege base goes forever on any subjects in magic.

Add a few more:

Paul Daniels... funny and can do anything.
Johnny Thompson... chops and funny

BALLANTINE... in comeback mode. More laughs per second than any act of any kind I have ever timed.
Stay tooned.

Ok, here's the "why" for my three choices: quite simply, they are the reason I'm in magic. Seeing them perform and the feelings of wonder and mystery they evoke are what makes me want to perform magic. That is the feeling I hope to convey to others. And, they all do it while having a great deal of fun!

The Whys
First thing I was think is the overall performer. Entertaining yet with the air of mystery.
Stage
Rick Thomas:Saw him last year a great show. He was very funny and at the same time blew me away. He moves very well on stage and has Elvis superstar looks. He's a performer you really have to go see live, then on TV.

Marco Tempest: He's very unique. He's ideas are amazing, very visual. His ideas really blow me away than the magic.

Close-up
Johnny Ace Palmer: He has the best close-up ACT in magic. He's funny, charming and he'll blow you away.I saw Johnny at magi-fest last year,it was great looking at the audience faces and seeing their reactions to his magic.

Parlor
McComb: A charming guy,very likable.
Seabrook: A nut, makes me laugh, that's goooood!
Johnny Thompson: All around great magician. You smile really big when he walks out.

Now the a list of the dead ones

Blackstone(Mr. Biro you're very lucky to have seen him and the girl in the drum.)
Cardini
Kaps
Duval
Gwynne
LePaul
Thurston
Devant
Richaridi(sorry)
Bil Neff
Jack Baker(Dr.Silkini)
Keith Richards(Oh,I'm sorry his a musician,not a magician)
