Listing of Genii Inserts etc?

Postby Michael Edwards » January 18th, 2008, 8:14 am

Is there a listing of the inserts/cd's etc that have been included with Genii during the past four years?

No, but it sounds like a job for Joe Pecore on a special page in MagicPedia.

Richard,
Were all give-aways included in issues sold at dealers (or only to subscribers)?

Also, if someone buys a back issue from you, will it include the give-away?

I've been rifling through a few DVDs on the shelf and see:-

Jim Steinmeyer's Palingenesia
and
D'Lite Project:2007

The first definitely came with Genii, although not sure about the second.

Unsure of the dates at this point though...

Cheers

Thanks Andrew. They both were Genii give-aways and page has been updated.

There were fake bullet holes included in one issue. I think it was December 2006 but I'm not sure. And I remember reading that only subscribers got the bullet holes, and copies bought at a magic shop would have a different bonus insert.

I'm interested in that question, too.

Is that considered an insert since it was attached? I think we are really trying to catalog the items that are loose in the polypag. That was a great item though.

I verified they were in the December 2006 issue and updated the page. Thanks!

Yes, the Rabbit trick in January is considered a give-away: it cost us several thousand dollars to put that page in the middle!

Do all back issues in storage also have the giveaways? YES, any back issue ordered will have the DVD, trick, or whatever.

The bullet holes were in the December 2006 issue with the story dedicated to SS Adams. We only had enough bullet holes for most subscribers--all shop copies (and all back issues we have for sale now) have a vintage SS Adams packet trick from the 1960s in them (and they were a random choice of about six different tricks).
