Re: Matchmaker by Per Strandberg in August issue

If I'm not mistaken, I think Lennart told me that Per Strandberg was deceased. Probably a mix-up with names, because Lennart should know that Per is fine. Per was surprised, but very flattered, to find out that his piece had been published. He's about to order a copy of the August issue... Can I te...

Matchmaker by Per Strandberg in August issue

It was good to see my friend Per Strandberg's clever idea finally in print. However, since it's publication, Per has recieved quite a few concerned letters about his health, as the piece was introduced with the words "discovered by the late Per Strandberg". So, for the record, Per is still...

Re: FS Fitch/Kohler holdout

From reading the text, it's clear that Mr. Weber wasn't trying to restrict anything. I think you are mistaken. To me, it looks like all commercial rights to the material is reserved, but allows non-commercial use, like in impromptu and informal situations. Which seems perfectly reasonable in my eye...

Re: Cylinder & Coins

Thought I would chime in here. Magic was greatly advanced when Ramsay took familiar elements and designed a new way of using the hollow stack, a new approach to vanishes, as well as pioneering a new kind of misdirection which was utilized not only in the Cylinder and Coins, but in every other trick...

I suggest that the props themselves should also be questioned. Many of us have disliked the cork as part of the effect. That's mainly because the cork isn't a part of our "normal" set of props, therefore it is easy to question its presence... But in the eyes of a layperson, the cork isn't...

Incidentally, I'm sorry that neither you nor John seem to like the feints in the routine. Would you consider it a good idea to expose a riveted hollow stack, throw it aside and then proceed with the original routine (using a second fake stack) ? That way, the feints would "play" equally w...

None of these variations, mine or others, should ever replace Ramsay's original method.
