Legerdemain - 1. sleight of hand 2. trickery or deception Therefore Card Cheats who practice sleight of hand and trickery or deception are Conjurors.. Just having some fun with ba...

Dustin - Thank you for reminding us of this excellent site. I check it out occassionally but it had been awhile. Of particular interest to those that have inquired about the "Rakanakus Cut" from Cervon's Castle Notebooks in another thread but do not own the book - it just so happens that t...

Jim - I see that Mallakite had had earlier posted: "PS: There's a really good false cut called the Rakanakus Cut by Vernon on page 71 that keeps the whole deck in the same order, I fooled myself when I first did it" Going from memory, Vernon's name is written next to the title of the cut w...

I noticed that one of the first entries from December 1964 records Marlo's name and a description of what I believe is Marlo's Miracle Aces. Does the description and the timing match the publication of Faro Controlled Miracles? (I do not own)

Tom, at the risk of stating the obvious, the Genii Forum provides an excellent outlet for different views and opinions, expert and less so, current and topical, already. Perhaps this is an invitation to encourage more topic starters on these web pages?

Thats what I mean. Dingle didn't perform with the wet deck to show off in any manner, but the fact that he could just do his little routine with a damp deck shows how skilful the guy is. However, you have noticed Richard and you were impressed, so how much more would a lay audience appreciate the gu...

"He would wipe the dirty and wet bar with a WET rag, then plop the deck onto it and do the routine perfectly. Am still amazed by it." That is skill at it's foremost. however, with reference to another post - don't you think that this sort of detail is lost on the layman? How many of his s...

Re: If you had to do one trick; which one would it be

Chris, Paradigm Shift is a packet trick. You produce a plastic wallet and from one side pull out a pack of cards. Show them all to be the same - i.e. 4 Ace of Hearts - and then place them on the table. You produce another pack of cards from the wallet and show them all to be 4 A of H. Then taking a ...

Re: The "finger-perfect" question

I think the points made above illustrate just how much a magician can get away with whilst performing to a lay audience. Indeed, there has been many a time where I have struggled to maintain a pinky break and virtually been forced to insert my pinky into the break. How obvious? But the strange thing...

Without sounding as if I'm constantly plugging this trick, I'd have to say "Paradigm Shift". The double kicker ending blows them away.

The Jinx Magazine

I have recently purchased a set of magazines called "The Jinx". Each copy is usually just 4 pages and is printed more like a newspaper. It was produced and edited by Theo Anneman and I believe it was printed by Davenports of London - although I could be wrong as there is a lot of refrences...

Re: Does anyone care about an Andrus book after 3 videotapes?

I would have to agree with Jon and others about a kind of "biography" about Jerry Andrus. It would let us all peer into the mind of this great man. In his videos you get the odd snippet about how he comes up with his ideas and inventions, but a more detailed account would be fascinating.

Up until recently my favourite packet trick was "NFW" by Gary Freed. I loved the reactions it got with the spectators. However, I always felt uncomfortable about allowing the specs to handle the cards afterwards. 9 times out of 10 I got away with it, but there was always that one person wh...
