Re: travelling by plane
I can confirm that it is shipped to the shop where I work wet. We store it wet and allow our customers to dry it out. Our general recommendation if one needs to dry it quickly is to lay it out on a piece of newspaper and let it dry. Depending on weather, it will take a couple of hours or overnight. ...

Dictionaries certainly do differ in quality. When it comes to Etymology, I like to start with The OnLine Etymology Dictionary . It's not necessarily the best resource, but one of the quickest when I don't have others at hand. When it comes to Online dictionaries, I'll invariably start with The Unive...

Not sure what the charge is, but seems to me that if you're on this board and you're not a member, you could certainly find someone who is a member to have you in as a guest.

Re: Anyone Else Going to the World Magic Seminar?
Growing up in theater circles, my mentors taught me that the success of any theater benefited all theater; the success of any artist benefited us all. My mentors taught that as the general public became excited to see live theater, opportunities arose for all of us. It is great to hear about folks i...

I was thinking the same thing. Wouldn't an old and established company have something more than a generic, public, free email for their professional representative? In an industry like ours, wouldn't you expect an old and established company would have someone with a name recognized in the industry ...

I can see some children seeing it and being upset. I know I've had discussions with youngsters about what's make-believe and what's real on television and in the movies. I'm glad Ellen made it clear. As for the adults who bought into it....I just think of the line from Blazing Saddles - they're the ...

Guilt and Pleasure - the Magic Edition
There is a wonderful magazine dealing with all kinds of Jewish topics called Guilt and Pleasure. I recently came across an old copy the magazine which was magic themed. It's archived here. It's also possible to buy a back issue. Not everything here will appeal to magicians, but if you have a chance,...

Jules Lenier, of blessed memory, told me once "Women are magical beings; men do magic tricks." I don't think he was being derogatory about the men so much as he was admiring the women.... and encouraging a woman who had just encountered "the old boys' group." As a woman studying ...

Dan Harlan had a court date 4/22. Following that, he was kind enough to share the following with me and to give me permission to pass the information on: Well, the process continues... but there's good news. My lawyer is asking for Treatment in lieu of conviction and both the judge and the prosecuto...

I like Ant as a comedian on-stage, but think he's just annoying in any other situation.

We're all getting old.
It's just we're not all maturing at the same rate.
As I've told many in the past, growing older is a requirement; growing up...not so much so.

Morgan Strebler has also marketed an effect called "Taste Conditions" which you may be able to work with in which water changes to mouthwash in a spectator's mouth. Designed for a blind in-law, it utilizes the other senses well.

If board members or others who might be in the know remain silent, the silences are (mis...
