Re: Pondering Erdnase
This is interesting and great research but I don't think that Erdnase used a Faro Layout to practice upon. Maybe this will explain my thinking. In Reno, Nevada the Nevada Club which later became Fitzgeralds, which I hope I am correct on the name, had two or three floors of gambling. The last time I ...

Re: ERDNASE
I am sorry for being remiss, but I want to sincerely thank all the organizers of the Erdaseum in Helena, Montana, especially Mike Vance, Marty, Dick Hatch, Bill Kalush, the Buck Brothers, (Wow do I like the playing cards they issued), the owners of the Sanders B&B, and all others I may have miss...
Re: ERDNASE
This is a very interesting concept. Thank you for thinking of this idea. I also wonder why Smith was not asked to draw a resemblance of Erdnase, or maybe he has, and it is hidden away in some persoanl effects.
Great question.

Re: ERDNASE
Correct, but this step is necessary so we can verify if he did sign the document.

Re: ERDNASE
Carlo,I find this so compelling. I just am amazed, however it is similar to the problem with imperfect anagrams. For instance, In New Era Card Tricks, you can find Erdnase car trick. However I am afraid that anagrams are much like a Google search. You can put two different names together and find ite...
Re: ERDNASE
I found this interesting post. It mentions a different name for Wilbur's son. Perhaps he had another son, other than James, as mentioned in the article. If I missed this, my apology. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://genforum.genealogy.com/sanders/messages/10354.html">http://genforum.geneal...
Re: ERDNASE
I agree with Roger. There is a great deal of circumstantial evidence that is getting stronger. Carl's discovery is really amazing.
Re: ERDNASE
Rick, Your last post jogged my memory of some notes on anagrams: This interesting. Back to anagrams. Roterberg's New Era Card Tricks has a few names scrambled in the title: New era card tricks Erdnase car trick New era card tricks Andrews. Trick car Some say the Erdnase must have read this 1897 book...
Re: ERDNASE
The article was very well written and certainly interesting. Many of you have beat me to the punch on several points with valid arguments. One thing we have as evidence for the first time (possibly)is the sampling of the handwriting of the candidate and the Copyright Office document that probably ha...

I think that this new information will be interesting and prompt a great deal of discussion, very much like the other candidates discussions. The facts and statements of these entries have churned up passionate fever. This new information, which our Grand Lama Chief Genii handicaps away from the fie...

Re: Magic and Psychology
Re: Harry's post I started doling card tricks when I was about 13 or so and I had absolutely no idea about psychology, but maybe what I used in place of psychology was the "moment" or the envelope to present the trick that might be suitable for the spectators. I don't even think I thouight...

Jimmy will be missed for sure. I remember him picking me up at the Hilton Hotel in Honolulu and driving me to his shop. On the way he said, "Do you like music, Geno?" I replied "Yes." He then put on Christmas music, but it was in the middle of July. He said "Why not?" H...

CASINO, JOHNNY HICKS ET AL
The movie Casino, Johnny Hicks and others. The movie Casino, by Martin Scorcese presents a better than average of portrait of Las Vegas as it existed in the late 60s and 70s. Many parts of this movie are based on actual events and real people. One of the characters in the movie played by James Wood...

The Case of Madame Yu
THE CASE OF MADAME YU Baccarat and craps are two of the best jobs in the casino. The chief reasons are 1)there are big limits on the two games, and 2) the dealers and floor persons make big tokes. (tips) In craps the boxman was also included. The boxman sits at the table and watches all play etc. Wh...

Re: Looy Simonof
Looy was a real friend. He did so much for magic that most of us will never know about. He taught classes in beggining magic at UNLV, and was really a magician that was always on, not with the jokes, but with making or inventing a trick out of anything he would buy or see. Looy was an admirer of pen...
