He pretty much has to have meant Doug Henning. The name was mentioned in a series of very famous North American magicians; Henning was the necessary precursor to DC.

Re: Tenyo 2007

So what do we think about the Tenyo Koornwinder Kar? Does it work like the original one I bought directly from Dick several years ago? I tend to agree with the blurb I just read, that having a plastic version will make it somewhat more mystifying, if the new one looks more like a toy out of Toys R U...

Thank you, Arnie. I'm starting to feel pretty beaten up here, for what was really an innocent remark that neither tips anything from the movie nor should spoil anything for anybody. Pretty much any review you've read of this film talks about plot twists. I remarked, in effect, that they are very int...

Pretty funny.

Sort of reminds me of the way I like to try to classic force the doors of the Metro train to stop right in front of me when I'm standing on the platform.

It doesn't hit 100% of the time, but I usually have an out. (I get to stand on the train instead of sitting.)

I love performing for kids this age. (In my muggle life I teach 8th-12th graders.) Their emotions are on the surface, and their reactions can be strong. Not sure how it is overall, but there were more DC-area restaurant workers last year than there are now. I was at Mama's Italian Restaurant for 5+ years until June 2005, when economic considerations caused the gig to fizzle. The Magic of New Orleans, in Aspen Hill, MD, was a regular gig for Alain Nu...
