Re: Winter Cleaning For the Genii Forum

I think it is important to keep everything intact for future research and those that are simply interested in reading the thoughts and whims of the participants in the Genii Forum. I have always had this fear of the electronic media of being wiped out without any hard copy or a back-up. Deleting the...

Re: help forstand up comedy show

I wish I could be there with you Brian. But the timing is bad. Here is a joke for you. A guy has a girfriend that has a left breast that is large, and a right breast that is small....He decides to enter her into a wet tee shirt contest at the local bar. She wins first and third place. That is what k...

Keith:
I always wash my hands with soap and water and then apply just a drop of Cornhuskers. You are right, too much will make your hands feel gunky. I have even applied a little Chamberlines (sic) on after, especially for dealing seconds, or for a demo, or for magic.

That is very admiral of you thinking about Walt Disney. He has brought many smiles to my face. I grew up in Burbank and remember many days of going down to his studios and climbing the trees next to the fence and watching them film Zorro. (what was the magician's name in that serial?) Plus when we w...

Re: Harry Lorayne's Personal Collection has Arrived

The finishing touches on Epitome Location which is called Epitome Location Jr. This is classic work to me because of my 10 years plus working in the Dunes Baccarat cash game. Baccarat used the same method of eliminating tens, just as Harry explained. This came very easy for me. I really enjoyed his ...

No. That means that I would be able to sell the book in my stores, since they are not available wholesale. Didn't you have quite a discussion about the book on Magic Talk. Did you read it yet? I learned a trick from the book last night that to me "is worth the price of the book." :)

Re: Dai Vernon and the Center Deal

Ralph Bonheim writes... Whom, among living talent, would you pick to play Vernon, Miller, Kennedy, Downs, Horowitz, and that jailed Mexican gambler?" Klause would be a great Vernon, no really, Joe Pecsi would be a great Vernon. Jason Alexander for Charlie Miller. Rip Torn for Downs. I'll leave ...

I just finished Harry Lorayne's Personal Collection and thoroughly enjoyed the book. Everyone may have different opinions, but here are mine. First of all I am a fan of Harry's. If you ever watched this man work a crowd with the boards in his hand you want to be as good as him. There is no question ...

Houdini's does sell Decadry Transfer sheets. Decadry is the same as Alfac, and superior to any transfer sheets I have seen in the US. However the style sheet sold does not have letters only numerals. Email me and I will quote you a price.

Re: Packets Tricks

I hold the theory that the spectator does not want to touch the cards or examine when doing "packet tricks". It seems to me that they (the spectators) accept the fact that you are doing an effect with just a few cards. It is reasonable to them that by having just a few cards makes the effe...

I agree. It should consider all people in magic whether inventors or performers. Inventors may not be professional entertainers, but I am sure that when they are inventing, they have to be performing just to test out an idea.

The Top 100 Magicians of the Century

Last Year Magic Magazine ran a list of the top 100 magicians of the century. Impressive as it was, many great names were left out and many names included that were not so great. Anyone care to take a shot at building a real accurate list without political overtones to inclusion or exclusion?

This would be great PR for Ricky Jay. It seems like every time I tune to ET or go see a movie his name pops up. :)
