Very true Richard. In those days if he would have had photos taken he would have to get a photographer and the process was not so simple as it is today. Also very expensive, however he could afford it. If indeed he did have a photographer where and when were the photos taken. In Chicago? Or some oth...

MY favorite is a trick by Jimmy Grippo. However somebody who is a real historian please help with the originator. Jimmy would give four cards to a spectator and he would take four cards. Sometimes he would give four cards to each member of the dinner party. And everyone would "do as I do"....

For the game of Blackjack, this might help. The deck in the left hand, mechanic's grip; and the right finger approaches the card to be second dealt; the right finger is parrallel to the surface of the deck in the left hand. In this way you get a chance at more surface beneath the top card that is pu...

I worked on this problem a couple of different ways. To be really convincing the deck must be shuffled by both players. There are two basic ways to cut for high card that are actually used in a gambling situation. The spread cut or draw. This is where the cards are table spread and you simply draw a...

Jimmy Grippo did an excellent routine: The four aces on top of the deck. Shuffle and don't disturb them. False cut one or two times, then shuffle the aces to the bottom. Then cut the deck with the right hand grabbing the top half of the deck by the thumb, second finger (on the long ends). The first ...
