Re: Let Me Know if Your October Issue of Genii Has Arrived!

Typical. Maybe a shade on the early side. It can take up to over a week for the issue to show up in my mailbox after the announcement that it's in the mail. I've normally read through the digital edition by the time the physical copy arrives.

Cleaning Out The Den Sale

While trying to organize some of the stuff I've accumulated over the past few decades, I realized there's a batch of stuff I'm not currently using that might want to find homes where they'd be put to use. So, here's a list of a few items for sale unearthed during the current round of making room for...

Re: Let Me Know if Your October Issue of Genii Has Arrived!

Picked up mine from my P.O. Box this afternoon in SW Virginia. Hadn't checked it in a few days, so it may have arrived earlier. Read the Malini article online, and it's a great insight into a true legend in magic. Kudos to David Ben for a wonderful job.

At work, so I'm not able to check references easily, but I know Jim Steinmeyer has published/marketed some jumbo card 3-Card Monte routines. Soft-Shoe Monte is marketed by him, and I know his lecture notes Artificial Conclusions covers a jumbo version. I think there's also one in Device & Illusi...

Best wishes for a fast and complete recovery. Your creations have been a source of inspiration for years...and "life savers" on more than a few occasions. You'll be sorely missed at the Bash, but hopefully you'll be part of Magic Live next August.

Take care Michael!

Nudging this back from the .pdf creator software threadjack, I'm curious if the three volume Pallbearer's Review reprint is scheduled for issuance as an e-book. Re: So, How was MAGIC Live?

A quick peek at MagicPedia provided this reference in the description of the Koran deck: "Audley Walsh's Magician's Dream which appeared in The Jinx (No. 43, dated April 1938 on page 298)." I knew it was the Walsh deck, but for some reason thought it was first published in the pages of The...

Giving this a nudge back to the top since there's less than 24 hours left before this series of auctions goes off. The first one concludes around 6:30 PM Eastern time, and the rest go off throughout the evening. Please take a look and bid if something catches your eye.

Many thanks!

Re: Genii is Shortly Going to Publish a New Book ...

Jules Lenier's Talisman is my guess. I haven't looked at my back issues in a long time but if I remember correctly each issue was about 8 pages which would make the page count around 600. That's a good guess. And it's one magazine that I'd love to see back in print since there was some great materi...

Hoping that Andy Nyman's Bulletproof arrives in time for the holidays...anxiously checking the post office every day. Apart from that, I'd just like the time to spend going through a backlog of goodies accumulated over the past year or two. A good bottle of a locally-produced Farmhouse Stout beer (o...

No, I don't think this marks the end of live magic conventions. The social factor is one of the most important elements and that's lacking with something online, even given online chat and the ability to share video/photos online. The EMC is a great experiment and the first day really exceeded my ex...

During John Carney's performance, he said to Letterman, "Oh look, a celebrity - Crispin Glover!" Why him, Mr. Carney? Kind of risky, given the legendary appearance of Glover on the show. Still, I liked it. It's called a "reference". Hilarious for those who got itnone of whom app...
