Re: Tannen's Magic

I know over the past years Tony Spina fields a lot of complaints from the conventioneers about the Saturday breakfasts. Silly as it sounds, this IS INDEED a big issue from many Jubilee attendees. In case you were not familiar with the Jubilee, the hotel stay includes all three meals and you eat what...

FIRST: -Mike, I am glad you tried the straw and liked it. I have put it on top of a Snapple bottle (instead of a beer bottle) and like I said before..that sucker really spins! Once you get the knack, the paper wrapper works terrific and is charging the straw right in front of the spectators. I prefe...

Re: The Opposite-Hand Strategy

The smart spectator who believed his philosophy would has burned your hand without giving you prior warning of his intent. If you want to accept his challenge and fool him badly, learn a few tricks from Rene Lavand's book. That way you can leave your non-domant hand palm flat on the table with finge...

Having just read all the posts on this subject, I'll give you a little impromptu effect I had been performing for some time now. It sounds similar to the above effect with a pen but solely uses static electricity as the method. Take a drinking straw from the rack at McDonald's(or wherever). Rip the ...

Regarding the history of this publication "Seven Deadly Miracles, in the July 1,1984 foreword Stephen Minch writes about turning the lecture notes into the book. It really seems like good intentions were meant by both Adam and Stephen. Here are a few lines from that foreword. "The odd thin...

Re: Sticks & Stones and – well – Bones

The satire on the Ding Dong trick was in the special "Blue" issue of Sticks and Stones. It was the only issue printed on blue paper and the theme that issue was blue material. I especially remember the Sticks and Stones because John sent me a set of the Heirophants when I won his cardman c...

HBO does indeed send out promotional copies of their shows to many media groups and reviewers. I have seen many of these in used video stores and in used book stores. HBO's promotion tapes are in boxes printed "For Your Consideration...."

Stone's Quick and Casual Close-up

I just finished watching and enjoying the new Sol Stone DVD Quick & Casual Close-up. Some teaching camera angles are bad, but the material is super!! The coin routines I liked best were "Purple Cow" and "North, South, East, West". Non-coin routines I really liked were the han...

Richard, Interloctor also carried over through the Chronicles years. Interlocter was mailed seperately and in the earlier issues would mention about the delays in sending out Pallbearers. In issue 10 dated July 20,1976 Fulves states that the last mailed issue of Pallbearers was the July 1975 issue. ...

Re: Vol. X CLASSIC MAGIC SERIES

Thanks Rich,
Last thing I got was a postcard from Robert Albo acknowleging receipt of my payment and advising the book would be out August/September. I am just hoping the book was delayed rather than that it was mailed to me and I didn't receive it for some reason.

David Moore asked if the Lorayne book would be signed and numbered. Harry never said in the ads that the books would be numbered. We are to take his word for it that there are only 750 copies out there. Reminds me of a limited reprint of a book sold by Stevens called The Expositor(or otherwise known...

I got a kick out of the ad. It does make it's point and there has been discussions on magic boards of people being ripped off by some of these new internet dealers.
I'm glad that Denny had the good sense to have this dealer sitting on a small ladder, rather than a small stool !

About "Merlin" being taped, I spoke with Charlie Reynolds about this last year. He, like the rest of us, only has the segment from the Tony Awards show in his collection and he did not think the entire show was ever filmed.
