Re: A couple books and Real Man's Cups for sale here - Price Reduction

Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes by G.P. Cestkowski is the definitive work on flourishes. I pick it up from time to time and find a gem everytime. If you are even the least bit interested in smoothing out your deck handling, get this! The book is HUGE and there is a lot of show for the dough!...

Re: How to Sell Magic Collection (Babcock, Mikame, Supreme, P&A, Abbotts)

I think the CD is working way too hard. Why not set up a website with all your items catagorized and priced. Then list your site on here and a few other magic websites as well. It wouldnt hurt to place a quick ad in Genii or other publications. Just a thought. Best of luck.

Thanks. Ordered Jennings '67. I appreciate that noone bought the book off here and turned around to try to sell it to me for $135 like the Elmsley Vol 1&2. I can't believe I didn't think of looking here?! DOH! By the way, I watched that ebay auction for the Elmsley Books - salivating, waiting to...

Strange Traveler VS Nate Leipzig's Original

Does anyone know the name of the original effect of Blaine's Strange Traveler taken from a Leipzig effect? Where might I find the original (book)? "The Effect: 10 cards are shown in the spectator's hand and 10 in the magicians hand, the magician spreads out the cards showing none of them are th...

PS In this version the prediction is not revealed until AFTER the "magician" pushes the card forward. If the card was revealed BEFORE the prediction, now that WOULD be something.

Re: Need help locating a trick in print

Bobby, This sounds a little like an effect from Ted Lesley's "Cabaret Mind Reading" and the effect is called "The Spectator as Mind Reader." I have a performance only version that was on an L&L Publishing DVD called the "Greatest Collection of Magic Performances Ever Ass...

Black Widow

I was looking for a new kind of Raven and I came across this; It's called The Black Widow and was created by Darryl Vanambur and produced/marketed by Paul Harris Presents. Anyone seen this? It's on the penguin magic page and lists for $250 and sound interesting. (Not sure if it sounds $250 interesti...

Re: The Slip Cut

Try setting off a flashpot about 2 feet away. Helps with the misdirection too. Seriously, a well placed direction or patter line covers the move for me. It's hard to keep it completely silent. I've tired saying, "You're about to hear a loud noise from the deck of cards in my hands - pay no atte...

Harry, Didn't mean to fire you up or offend you. Your explainations are some of the easiest to follow and for a novice like me they are greatly appreciated. I used to get frustrated (and still do) when a writer doesn't take into account that the reader might not know what an Elmsley Count is or a Ge...

Re: Harry Lorayne Magic Books...Two "thumbtips" UP or DOWN?

Thanks for answering my questions about the Harry Lorayne books. I was worried because I ordered your Apocalypse and loved the first year of it but I found that Harry usually ended up promoting his books or methods, especially in the years that followed. In an issue back then you had said that The M...

Heard Blaine was going to perform a marriage trick... you know, a magician marries a really hot woman...Tadaaaa! He's too late.
