The gentleman doing the bubbles is Tom Noddy who appeared at a number of magic conventions during the '80s. He does a fabulous act and sold bubble making kits complete with instruction book and gear at one time.

He does an outstanding job of demonstrating a number of the better effects from both books.

John's Translocation routine first appeared in his Lecture III notes which are dated 1983. The copy I have has his signature with a November 1983. This would have been the date of the lecture here in the Washington, DC area where John lived at the time.

I recall seeing a photo of Fred in uniform someplace and if I am remembering correctly, he was stationed in Indonesia according to the caption. However, I can't recall where I saw this. I will dig around and see if I can find the source.
