Re: Mike Close

I respectfully disagree with Glorpy's assessment of the reviews written by Mike Close for Magic. I have read many of Mike Closes reviews over the past 5 years and have found them consistently fair and accurate. Mike Close routinely points out the positive and negative aspects of any item. In additio...

Hi Pete: Well, I am moving back to the San Francisco Bay Area in two weeks so melting won't be a problem. My personal sense of melting is one of the main reasons why I am moving back home. I miss that old San Francisco Fog...and Buma, Jr. at House of Magic on Chestnut Street of course. Remember Club...

Sealing Wax - Ron Wilson's Card to Wallet

I am working on learning Ron Wilson's Card to Wallet routine as described in The Uncanny Scot. One of the nice touches in Ron's routine is to seal the envelope with sealing wax and then stamp your initials in to the wax. Appreciate any suggestions on where you get sealing wax and a sealing stamp gra...

The Classic Pass

I was recently watching one of the Derek Dingle videos that were made in France and sold by Jeff Busby (the videos were a gift from a friend). I enjoyed Mr. Dingle's performances on the video and was duly impressed with the quality of his magic and presentation. Towards the end of the video the prod...

Faucett Ross

I have been reading a bit about Faucett Ross in the Vernon Chronicles and in Ganson's Magic with Faucett Ross. I also remember reading that Mr. Ross was John Carney's first mentor in magic. I wonder if there are any videos available showing Mr. Ross performing? He sounds like he was a pretty cool ca...

Dear Jeffery: I recently purchased a set of Riser Mini-Cups and, as a collector and performer, I am very pleased with my purchase. Perhaps the following might help. In the recently published Lost Notebooks of J.N. Hilliard, the Al Baker section contains two methods. On page 104 there is a cool "Card in Pocketbook" that seems pretty traditional in style except there is no card guide per se or envelope finale. However, ...
