Ricky Jay Show in San Francisco Tonite 11/1/08

I have an extra ticket to the Ricky Jay Show at the San Francisco Jewish Community Center for tonite. It's in row "N", four seats in from the right-side aisle and cost me $76. If someone is interested in the ticket for the original purchase price (or maybe less, depending on interest), con...

Re: NEW: Stick a Pip (peel and stick)

The dollar to Euro exchange rate has really hit the price on their stuff. I thought $25 for the TT's was high when they spammed me 2 years ago. With the sinking of the dollar, the $43 (w/o shipping) they cost now causes them to make even less sense to me. I am curious tho', do the TT's look as real ...

Bob, Richard & Jim, Thanx for your suggestions. I'll get my genuine Porper Clip ordered (maybe one of the Vernon Commemoratives). I've long ago learned my lesson buying imitation anything. Quality is always worth the price. In the mean time, I can try out Bob's icebox trick on my next deck that ...

Bicycle card "warp" problem

Hi, everyone, I'm getting frustrated with a problem with the bikes I've been using recently. The third deck in a row (from a 12 pack) has a 'warp' that causes the deck to "pop" from concave to convex if you put pressure in the center. No amount of springing face up or down from the ends or...

Based on the picture at The Trickery (which is where you end up if you click the second link above and then click the "Appearing Broom" link) and the price (which matches the price at Wayne Rogers site), this probably is the Wayne Rogers product. (I can't vouch for The Trickery personally ...

I see your point, Richard, but most spoons have a bend in the handle just above the bowl so the reverse concavity Adam suggested would be pretty obvious.

You could buy the Revelations edition with Vernon's notes, but it's out of print and expensive. There will be a new edition with much more material from Mike Caveney's Magic Words at some point. Richard, Am I reading you right? Caveney is planning to print a new edition of Revelations? Or do you me...

Spellbinder,

I didn't consider the lapping "move" in Slydini's cigarette routine any more involved than your example of "a simple bill switch" but I guess that's a matter of opinion. I was primarily responding to your implying that Slydini's routine hadn't been published.

I've seen it mentioned that one of John Mulholland's pet effects was the "impromptu" prodution of a flash of flame between his fingertips. I actually saw him do this on a televised interview sometime back in the 70's (I think Dick Cavett was the interviewer, but I could be wrong.) He was m...
