Richard Turner's The Cheat DVD is a great resource for that and plenty of other useful moves.

Re: Cogitations Lives! (Until Oct. 5th, 2005 at least)

I never got the emails and I had already purchased "Weapons of Mass Destruction" notes but I feel this is a very fair resolution. Mr. Youell has been having very difficult personal issues. Mr. Kaufman has commented (with experience)on how hard magic publishing can be. Mssr. Aguilar and You...

Re: Bars For Bar Magic

I used to perform bar magic and have a couple of suggestions. First, be a damn good bartender and always pull your weight. If you are working the day shift and the happy hour bartenders come in and run out of juice etc., they will begin to hate your magic. The rule GTFM always applies. Your number o...

Re: What would you do with my coin?

I think it would be cool if you planted the coin in a place they would not likely find for months. Let them find it when you are long gone.

Re: Dealing with that uncooperative "helper"!

The other night I asked a lady why she was messing with me. She said, "I'm a bitch." I said, "I'm an [censored]. Maybe we should get together and have some brats." With this guy, after the first mess-up I would have just turned away from him and not looked at him again. I would s...

Re: Hamster/mouse load

I think the tube idea is a good one. You could duct tape a toilet paper tube or use a piece of PVC, poke some air holes, and cap both ends. When hanging inside the jacket, the lower cap could be on a hinge or elastic so you just pop off the lid and catch the
critter.

Re: Moving Pips

John Carney has a great version in Carneycopia with no gaffs. You show a four and table it face down. Then show a three and visibly remove the center pip turning it into a two. Pick up the four and put the pip onto it turning it into a five. Its a good trick to show the kids that will fry the adults.

Re: More Thoughts on practice

I think so much of this debate revolves around the definitions you choose for yourself. There is no doubt a person could be thouroughly entertaining without good magic or any magic for that matter. It is also possible an extremely skilled technician in magic could be a poor performer. At what point ...

Re: why are all my cards "bowed?"

Oh ya, Richard's right too. Get a card clip (preferable from Joe Porper). You can use a couple of pieces of wood and a vise also but that leaves a noticable bulge and messes with pocket management.

Re: why are all my cards "bowed?"

Bob Farmer's suggestion is the answer. I store my decks faro shuffled face up and face down. It takes a minute to set up for the show but the decks are in great condition.

Re: sick and tired of flatulent magic reviews - www.25offmagic.com

I agree with Jim Riser. There is waay too much deception in the advertisement of magical apparatus. I just blew $40 ordering a card in bottle from Hank Lee. I've been burned by him before so I should have known better. I went back and reread his discription. "A signed card instantly appears ins...
