Re: The vernon touch book
I can see why including a DVD would appeal to a new generation of "readers". It's unfortunate for me as I shudder when I see a DVD included with a book and in fact, can deter me from purchasing the book.

Re: I know all, see all and will tell all!
Preface in, "Red Hot Cold Reading": "There are only two or three stories in life, and we repeat them over and over, as if though they had never happened before." Mark is very right about learning the real means of palm lines and/or tarot cards, rather than (only) just giving col...

Re: I know all, see all and will tell all!
There is actually an entire book devoted to the subject of tricks with a fortune telling theme. It is called "Forbidden Wisdom" by Howard Albright. I do own the book but I must confess that I don't do anything from it. The reason is that I enough psychic readings as it is and I like to ge...

Re: I know all, see all and will tell all!
One caveat I have is to do it for real. In other words do it properly using standard palmistry divination meanings. Avoid all that so called fraudulent "cold reading" malarkey. I have seen videos of sceptic debunker types doing what they think is palmistry and it is bloody awful and not c...

I still have my old paperback.
Excellent book.

I am always looking to deepen my interest in magic. And learn new things. I am 33 and have a massive library of books and magazines. However - no matter how well read you are - there is a large chunk of magic that passes you by. Marketed tricks. I find this a really difficult area to study. And sin...

Re: Midnight Shift- Draun
A couple of things, not to be rude, but to enlighten. 1.Steve Draun was born in 1941. He has been delighting people with sleight of hand magic for a very long time. Im not surprised you don't know him, unfortunately you are not alone. Many of the younger guys aren't. Again, no offense, but I strongl...

Re: Conjuring Arts Book Club
Perhaps it should be called The Conjuring Arts E-Book Club?
I got excited for a moment thinking this was an actual book club.
I do not read e-books, however I do like your idea of having an expert discuss the book's contents.
Sounds like fun.

Re: reading vs video
No comparison. Video can never compare to the writings of a talented author.
If you are a good reader, you will receive instruction from a book that can never be equalled by video.
That's not to say video can't be helpful. It can be very helpful in many ways.
