Re: Give it away, give it away now

I think it's an unintended side effect of the entire distribution system getting built out and streamlined to every small town on the planet. Look at the movie industry for an example: Recently, I took a tour of the new Disney Museum in the Presidio in San Francisco. The way movies are distributed h...

Re: Give it away, give it away now

It's a symptom of a bigger problem: There is just too much media, period. Too many TV shows, movies, music albums, books, video games, websites...the list goes on and on. This has encouraged a different attitude in the public. Did you miss the last big movie/album/etc? No problem, another one will b...

Look at the first page of your site, the caption above the audio player says, "LISTEN TO OUR EMC 2010 WRAP-UP:"

The interview is the correct one, in both audio players.

Best instructions on how to do this are by Marty Martini (yes, that's what he calls himself) in either book or DVD format. Look for "The Art of Card Splitting" by Martini.

Re: The best AUDIO wireless controller?

Zamiel, the key thing is that all of these options work. The least expensive is the iPod and RF remote, but you give up some versatility in exchange for the low price and small size. It's a good choice if you're starting out and are just doing kids/family shows. Just make sure to get the right RF re...

I forgot about a couple of other options in my post above. To be complete... iPod: Alex Hecklau has a book on how to use an iPod with a wireless transmitter and a wired remote. Cesaral Soundmaster: Another purpose-build unit, the difference here is that it's designed to give you random access to any...

Re: The best AUDIO wireless controller?

Sorry to tell you this, but Virtual Soundman is out of business. That leaves you with three options: 1. iPod with remote RF control. Insert a blank track in between music cues to keep the iPod from sleeping. Inexpensive, works well. Make sure to get an RF remote, not an IR remote. RF does not need t...

Re: RE: Help converting VHS to DVD - Money in YOUR pocket

However, most magic video companies didn't encode their VHS tapes with Macrovision, because there is a licensing fee involved per tape. This is a small, niche business and although I've never discussed it with them, I'm sure that they couldn't afford Macrovision. I've backed up my magic VHS tapes to...

Opie, can you go into a bit more detail about what you did with the hand puppets? You hand them out to about a dozen people, tell them they're going to do a short bit...and then what? You help them out? You let them do what they want in front of the group? This sounds like a gem of an idea but some ...
