I have no definite proofs but it seems that Card on the Wall (Pinetti (17XX) )precede Card on the Ceiling. In Potter's Index, Prof. Rigdum Funnidos described To Make a Selected Card Stick to the Ceiling or Wall, page 57 from Magic at Home (1870). No ceiling before. I don't if Card on wall came firs...
