Following your comment: 'Well, what I want to know is has anyone contacted Ratzinger yet? That seems to be the next logical step.' only a moron would assume that you were not bothered.

'But this is starting to look like the descriptions of after-show parties for the Oscars.'

- No, this is just looking like several eulogies from those who respected the work and art of a great performer who has recently died.

Why does this bother you so much?

Re: Richard Pryor is gone

I don't know about 'balance'... but the Crouch piece is the biggest load of b@@%$s I've read all week. It shows a complete lack of knowledge of Pryor's growth as a performer and understanding of his place in stand-up history. One of the true giants of comedy, Pryor will be greatly missed. For those ...

Re: Rene Lavand Book

I finally tracked down a copy of 'Mysteries Of My Life' and, with some concern, I was expecting to endure a few pages of textual psychedelia as described in the original post above. The text 'problem' is one line only and barely noticeable at that. I only regret that these comments put me off gettin...

'New' Kaufman Books?

There is a rumour that 'Seance' is about to be reprinted, along with other titles. Apparently there is an advert in the new Genii.

As someone who is yet to receive this month's issue, could anyone provide more details on these rumours of reprints or new books?

The 'Glassy Thumb' Problem And The Strike Second Deal

I would like to whole-heartedly recommend 'Skinners Edge Creme' to anyone struggling with the take on their false dealing. When executing the No Touch Second, I've always had problems with a 'glassy' dry thumb. I've tried SortKwik, hand creams etc and posted on various forums for advice but to no av...

Apart from the new book The Vernon Touch, I've got my fingers crossed for reprints of:

Complete Works Of Derek Dingle
Secrets Of Brother John Hamman
Seance
Spirit Theater

And hopefully we'll see the rest of the Larry Jennings trilogy...

Re: Steve Forte book arrives!

The Genii feature on this book implies that the Steve Forte book is the new Erdnase. I was under the impression that magicians had been warned by the publisher that this book is really only for those involved in gambling - or maybe magicians with an interest in gambling. In other words, that magicia...

Re: Book of the Month: Fechter: The Magic of Eddie Fechter

I have my answer (care of Gary Michaels): 'Actually, unlike card or deck holdouts, dice "holdouts" are merely ways of holding back a die or dice when shaking a dice cup andthen reintroducing them back into the supposedly fair dice roll (sort of like the concept of adding a ball to a previo...

I've just bought a copy of 'The Magic Of Eddie Fechter' ahich, as has been mentioned, does not include 'Eddie Fechter's Dice Holdout Methods for Magicians'. As someone with no experience with dice magic/dice gambling, can someone give me a brief idea as to what this book contains. I assume a holdout...
