Re: Hiro Sakai Magicana

Well, I haven't seen the program in a while, but I recall that the "walking through a table" effect began with what I believe was Andrew Mayne's "Pocket Sawing in Half"--followed by a cutaway to Aki Hoshino's reaction--then back to Sakai ("Dr. Leon") already walking tow...

Re: Amazing Johnathan Missing?

I liked the story about his high-school magic performance.
He failed so miserably that the next day the other kids didn't even tease him about it.

Re: Magicians sue over revealed tricks

Hello I'm digging up this old thread because after 1 1/2 years, the Tokyo District Court's decision on the case came down yesterday. Plaintiff's claims rejected! ...no big surprise there... http://www...

Re: RICHARD KAUFMAN INTERVIEW

Thanks, Dodd. You've got the best magi interviews on the web! Very professional. There are some comments about Richard's interview and Maeda-san here: http://japanjin.blogspot.com/2008/09/ma .....

Re: Words that a Magician Should Never Utter in Front of Laymen

I always thought that the word "riffle" was part of everyone's standard lexicon. Like "riffle the pages of a book".

Another word that fits this topic is "faro", hence the Charlie Miller "...I shot him" line.

Re: Two packet effect

Its interesting - elmsley didnt hold them at fingertips, so why did Vernon? This is what Andi Gladwin wrote over at online-visions : "Finally, for those who are interested why Dai Vernon used a finger-tip to finger-tip handling in one of his most famous works, "Twisting The Aces" you...

Re: Magicians Week on Letterman

Penn talks about his performance on his video blog at http://crackle.com/c/Penn_Says/Penn_Says_Letterman_and_the_Glasses_Trick/2280582 That's the clip that I linked to earlier. Thanks for putting this URL up, as the clip seems to have disappeared from the main PennSays page that I linked to. By the...

Re: Magicians Week on Letterman

Over on Crackle Penn is kind of kicking himself for forgetting a subtlety that might have helped draw spectators away from the idea of duplicate glasses. He also explains why they used Paul. http://www.crackle.com/c/pennsays<...
