Re: One Card Changes

there is the throw change (Jack Merlin). Being as you are in the middle of a living room floor it could work. Essentially. hold the double/throw the other card to the floor while adding extra back to deck. People are disarmed since you let the card leave your hands for them to turnover. If you need ...

If you know how the basic effect works and the various convincers one can employ (e.g., torn corner, signatures, serial # match) why not develop your own presentation? I really like Whit's 4-ring routine but I just can't pull off his routine/presentation. I do bar magic but in no would I try Eason's...

I would guess you probably have material on it now. Most writers address it in introductory sections. Henning Nelms has a good portion about it in Magic and Showmanship talking about conviction vs. deception. Really most books have something on the subject including the aforementioned titles.

Re: Blaine to Spider Hole?

It seems like every time a magician makes a splash they get major criticism. Blaine got the benefit of capitalizing on the reaction shot and normal looking people when TV is going for reality shows. Penn and Teller got their zing from being the 'Bad Boys' of Magic. They exposed thumb tips and card p...

Yes he is famous and fueled by the magic of the magicians he thanked in his book. Here's a few ideas for Blaine to do next. - spend an hour in a kiln. - swallow a watermelon whole. - shave his head and grow his hair back before the show is over. - eat ten brocolli souffles and twenty bean omelettes ...

This thread reminds me of Daryl's Ambitious Card Omnibus. A suggestion can be found in C. Lang Niel's, The Modern Conjuror under Tricks of the Trade. Perhaps in the Down's book as well. If you want to find out the secret to these and many more effects take some time to read the Fitzkee Trilogy. Read all three. Then read other books on theory.

After that, (and some work with trial and error) people will be asking how you did your magic.

Naming a bar must consider the location. What if Milt was cruising the desert and it was known as the Palmdale Magic Castle. Sometimes the place could name itself. Perhaps there is a trademark visual in the building that you could name it after. Maybe the address could be used (i.e., 1313 Main St. T...
