Saddened to read this. Along with Fred Kaps and Richard Ross he was in the top ranks of international Dutch magicians. I was fortunate to be at his 50th birthday party along with Eugene Burger and Johnny Thompson. There were only a few magicians present and we sat in a corner and did card tricks. I ...

Tom's take on S.W. Erdnase, https://youtu.be/YlBHbrzwyK4 From the posts above I am sorry I never knew Tom Blue. He sounds a fascinating character. Having watched the youtube link I can't see how he offers any credible evidence as to his choice of Erdnase. Yes, W.S. Andrews did satisfy Vernon's thre...

Both Diverting Coin Magic and Diverting Card Magic by Andrew Galloway have been reprinted. The late Brian Glover, a cardman of considerable skill with an encyclopaedic knowledge of card magic, told me Diverting Card Magic was a book he took down and re-read every six months and always found somethin...

I've just returned from a lecture tour of Germany. A highlight was visiting the Zentrum Für Zaunerkunst near Münster. Michael Somdermeyer who runs it showed me around this truly magical Hogworts. Of relevance to this thread is the wide variety of used magic for sale. There's a tray of appx twenty di...

Whosever it is, from my perspective it looks very good. I like that you hold the deck vertically to display the card. I am sick to death of magicians performing at waist level or even lower. And don't be ashamed to show your face either.

I do the sponge bunnies and I never ask them to open their hand slowly. I want those bunnies springing out up into the air and flying all over the place. I don't care if they fall on the floor. It's a nuisance but a small price to pay for the reaction when they fly out. I want screams!

David Blaine’s show in Manchester ranks with the very best magic shows I’ve seen. The first half was a lesson for all because everything was right, never mind that all the props used would fit in a suitcase.
When I say everything was right, I mean the lighting, the staging, but most importantly, B...

I've studied memory systems and read many books by many authors. Not only does it teach all the methods he uses but it is crammed wi...

The Book of John is probably something I would never have bought had it not been for the excellent review given by Goodliffe in Abra. Yes, it was published by Sypreme Magic Company as a tribute to the recently deceased Lewis Ganson.
It's about the same size as The Faucett Ross book.
