Re: Which Triumph do you use??

I have been refining a Triumph routine for the last 2-3 years and it outperforms anything I do with a deck of cards...It is extremely strong, in large measure, BECAUSE of the selection...permit me to explain: I think that Triumph, as conceived by the professor, is powerful for two major reasons: a.)...

A brief thought about the presentation of magic

The following is quoted from the AP review of Ricky Jay and David Mamet's On The Stem (courtesy of Jim Steinmeyer's website): "each magical effect arises organically from the storytelling, much as songs arise naturally from the plot of a good musical." That really got me thinking... If I r...

Re: Frog Prince "top change"

Well, it depends on what Biro means...I assumed he meant a top change in which the card to be changed in is held in biddle grip...it's very smooth and virtually effortless because the fingers are out of the way -- I believe it's in ECT but I might be wrong (most of my library is in storage :( ) rega...

*"it is proving to be the price one pays for their excesses."*

This may sound like a silly question, but are you seriously refering to Marlo here? What excesses do you mean?

Re: Hanging Coins

even when you're familiar with his work, "Full Frontal Assault" is pretty darn deceptive...it took me several repeat viewings to get a sense for what's going on, especially with the third coin in the coins across section (i think i've followed it now...though, if he isn't using a shell, th...

Re: Hanging Coins

Thanks to all for their input. I'm very interested to see where this thread goes... Jeez Dave, why didn't I think of that? I'll experiment with it, but I have to admit there's something that seems a lot riskier about doing it for those who are below you... thinking about edge grip, it seems that one...

Re: Hanging Coins

you ask a tough question Doug...one that i've gone back and forth on for quite a while...the inability to vanish the last coin always frustrated me a bit with the original routine -- but the issue I have with Kurtz' handling (though I have only read it and have not seen it performed) is that it seem...

Re: Frog Prince "top change"

As the Gertner Top Change is under discussion I thought I'd post one little point of finesse that I like quite a bit...it's not terribly original, just my attempt to have what I like about both the "standard" method and the Gertner method combined in one move...I apologize that my prose st...

I had the pleasure of meeting Mark at Darwin's lecture at Denny's...Let me echo him in saying that the material that I saw is of a tremendous caliber...very impressive...
