Re: David Alexander Has Died...

Shocked and saddened. Just re-read the last email from David which I'd been meaning to reply to, but you get busy and it goes to the back-burner and then... David was a man of many, many gifts -- and an informed passion for great performance (and was a link to so many performers who deserved to be r...

You want to know about "real work": Ask Denny Haney about Del Ray ending the close-up act at corporate shows by beating the best Rummy player in the company. He was legitimately cheating (how's that for an oxymoron), and Denny's story of the time Del was almost beaten is a great example of...

Glad to have found the link to the article, I was just watching some of Mr. Lu's work (I'm assuming that's the surname based on what little I've heard third-hand about Asian naming), and was about to post a "Who is this Lu Chen guy?" The work is phenomenal...simple, clear, impossible plots...

Re: New TSA Security Procedures

No idea if this is mentioned above, but the insane thing is subjecting pilots to these searches. If a pilot wants to bring down the plane he is flying, feeling him up isn't going to stop him. As it stands, pilots go through security screening 200-400 times a year. And that raises questions about the...

The disc is well done. I particularly enjoyed the "tour de force" for two reasons: 1.) these techniques are only effective when they're instinctual; and while that only happens through experience, seeing the techniques in different contexts over and over really helps to get the whole thing...

A performer's act is his/her most valuable asset. You're already asking folks to give a week of shows for $800; to then expect that for that $800 you should be able to distribute the performer's most valuable asset worldwide, in perpetuity, to end up in god-knows-whose hands and shown in god-knows-w...
