Re: Houdini's Head
Yes, it's pretty much true. As I remember it, the original marble one Houdini had made was smahed to pieces in the 1970's. The vandals had heard a silly rumor that Houdini's secrets were in the bust. Needless to say, there wasn't anything. After the destruction, the S.A.M. asked for donations for a ...

Re: Houdini's weekly salary
This is off the top of my head, but I think Houdini was making $10,000 per week when he did the Hippodrome in 1918 for 18 weeks or so. Also, when he had his 3 in 1 show in 1925 + 1926, I would guess that his weekly salary was well above $10,000 per week. I'm still unpacking the Houdini boxes, so I c...

I think DC did well overall. Conan must of have wanted the fart spray story as he lead DC into it. He must know his audience and their tastes. I liked that DC didn't have to perform and could just sit there and bs like any other star would have. As for the collection of his pranks, when Conan hit hi...

I remember the escape artist who used wet cement to fill a grave using a plexi-glass casket. Hen,
It's the 1897 Burlingame book on Herrmann. It was a gift to Charles Bertram, magic author. I figure it should be a good one, as it came with some harder to find Houdini books etc. Not to mention that Robinson was Herrmanns assistant.
