Re: Glue for playing cards?
Didn't Don England have a gaff-making video? What did he use? bill, in the video you are referring to don used both rubber cement and super 77 spray adhesive. the main reason was the fact that many of his gaffs had small pieces. however, he did make use of my dry mount equipment (which i obtained f...

tom, check out don england's version from his 1979 lecture notes. it's similar. he also has another more complicated gaff that i actually like better and used it in my castle show back in the '80's.

john, that's the way i've been doing it for decades. i've always used it in ackerman's quick coincidence and just assumed that's how he taught the move. it was so long ago. i never thought of it as different. don england did it that way as well. i would probably lean toward it not qualifying as a va...

Re: Playing Card Sleeves
Tom,
I use a sleeve by Ultra Pro (top loader series). it's a 3 x 4 solid plastic sleeve and will accomodate 2 cards only. I also use the Ultra Pro(sleeve series) polypropylene sleeves. They are very flexible and will hold over 6 cards easlly.

It's interesting to see an original copy of Artanis' Bottom Deal record. I've just been transcribing a bunch of Marlo letters from 1958, and he talks about it there. Marlo was not a fan, but it's still a curious lesson (if only for the medium). It's been on the Lybrary for years if anyone is piqued...

magic books publishing history
I recall hearing some time ago that, aside from religion, more books, periodicals and pamphlets on magic have been published than any other subject. I have not been able to confirm that or even find a reference that could shed any light on it. any thoughts?

i have the plastic mini chop cup that i got from hocus pocus. it's black. i was really hoping that it would be compatible with the old adams plastic cups and balls set and at first glance it appears to be. unfortunately, it is a bit too big and doesn't nest well with the others.

i agree with joe. ask the pros. and then...go with your gut. just because your prospect didn't want to pay "that much" doesn't mean it wasn't a fair price. as you said, the fact that you are not finding any current market info on your book MAY mean that it's in such high demand that no one...
