For me, the satire of Copperfield going on too long itself went on too long. Five minutes would have done the trick. When the Doug Henning character showed up, it lost my attention.

Most likely, they were prepping him for a place to channel his urine so he doesn’t soak the bed. It’s not like they can do a levitation so they can change the bed sheets! So, instead of calling in a stage magician to perform the levitation, they prefer to collect it in a handy bag for easy disposal....
