Re: wild card effect(explicit display of faces and backs)

Many years ago Ron Frost sold an excellent wild card effect called "Wild Card Outdone." Ron's handling is very effective and unique! You do the effect twice, using a different "wild card" the second time around. At this juncture, the faces of some of the cards turn blank and the ...

Re: Ring Flite

Steve Dusheck's "Ringer," is one of my favorite "Flying Ring" effects. There is no reel and it is an instant reset! The spectator's ring appears on a rectangular, metaal key holder. There is just a fob and the rectangular metal holder. It is ingeniously gimmicked, but very ordina...

Re: Steve Dusheck

Bob,

I always carryt Steve Dusheck's "Lethal Tender," which is one of the most visual transpositions of a chinese coin and a half in existence! I also carry "Shellabration," and "Rabbit Roulette." "Ringer" is another favorite! I could go on!

Re: Steve Dusheck

Harry, I caught your lecture and thaught it was excellen, and it definitely wasn't a dealer demo. I especially enjoyed learning the hankerchief card force you tauhgt from Hugard's Magic Monthly. I believe it fooled all of us there! Also I still do the tricks you taught at the lecture!

Re: Favorite Lectures You Have Attended

One thing that makes a lecture great is actually being able to perform the magic that is taught. Steve Dusheck's lecture is the best I've seen! His magic is astounding and I always cary one of his effects with me - magic I can perform. Steve is also a wonderful person and one of the most knowledgeab...

Re: What is your favorite trick by Harry Lorayne?

"Halo Aces" is one of my favorites, too, Harry. I use the ending you tought me at Tannens once. This is where I "miss" the last ace with an indicator card. This card, a five, finds the last ace five cards down! When the five cards are turned over, they are a royal flush!!! Multip...

Re: The value of Garcia's sponge ball encyclopedia

I have to disagree somewhat with some of what has been written in this column about Garcia'a book. Sponge ball magic is one of the most amazing types of magic a close up worker could perform because rarely in magic does the marvelous happen in a spectator's hand! I have Frank's fabulous book and can...

I agree with you about these wonderful books. There are gems waiting to be found, The reason why it isn't raved about is that the old proverb is true (If you want to hide something, put it in a book).

Re: NICK TROST

Nick Trost's packet tricks like-"The Deuce You Say"-an older version of Phil Goldstein's B-wave, "Roadrunner," "Ace in The Hole," are among my favorites. These effects use cleverly gimmicked cards and they are very effective card magic. When gimmicks replace moves and b...
