Re: Long suspected, the truth is finally out!

For nearly 50 years I've wanted a demon to grant me the ability to make playing cards and compact discs appear at my fingertips. In my book, that's some REAL power right there.

Not David Copperfield ...

... but Harry Shearer as David Copperfield.

Never seen this clip before, but I found it quite homage-ly hilarious and thought I'd pass it along for anyone who has never seen it before either:

Re: Great magic shops - Past and present

Growing up in Northern Ohio in the 70's I would make regular trips to a magic shop in downtown Cleveland. I unfortunately cannot remember its name (or names; I vaguely recall it changing hands at least once.) It was on the second floor of a downtown building complex. You had to walk through the door...

Although this one applies to so many things in so many fields, I think it's especially apropos in magic: modifying, tweaking, tinkering with, and otherwise changing something is comparatively easy; creating something - something truly worthwhile to begin with - is hard. You've created an amazing amo...

Magic will only truly be "dead" when science finally creates Star Trek's transporter. Here "dead" means that no matter what effect you present, a layperson will able to claim you just have someone in the back operating a transporter for you to accomplish all of your effects - thu...

The only time I have ever used them for magic is to transform normal dice into them.

Because they are not cubes like regular dice, there's no way I can use them for rolling numbers without arousing tremendous suspicion on the part of the spectators - even though they are actually 100% fair.
