And here is a huge list of egg bag references. Good timing, as I just updated my Egg Bag reference guide. Jennifer Myers from Steve Myers Magic wrote to tell me of Steve's custom Malini Egg, Malini Egg bag, and related items he sells (https://www.stevemyersmagic.com). This prompted me to update my ...

Magic Book Table of Contents Listings - nearing 7000 books
Just a notice that I've posted a November update to the MagicRef website. It's nearing almost 7000 magic book table-of-contents listings. As always, if you have a table-of-contents listing (and hopefully a photo of the front cover) for any books not listed, I'd love to add them to the site. It is a ...

If you go to the TueSleight website, it just says "Coming Soon". I wrote to Howard Blackwell, and he replied that "We decided to discontinue. It took a lot of time and we started performing again quite a bit." So sadly, it appears that the TruSleight products are no longer availa...

Re: Color Changing Knives Article Update
I had the opportunity to correspond with J.P. Jackson about knives around 2006. He used to work at Brad Burt's magic shop, and he made custom knives based on the Case brand, which are nice quality knives. I traded him a base Case knife I had that he wanted to use to create a set, and he sent me an a...

Re: Color Changing Knives Article Update
@Philippe - thanks for the confirmation about Walter Jeans. The two earliest knives I've seen advertised (though I haven't done an exhaustive search) were the Kanter's knives referenced in 1935, and Gamage advertised theirs in 1936. I've never seen a picture or photo of the Gamage knives. I had some...

I've moved the Magic reference pages from http://magicref.tripod.com to http://magicref.net The Lycos service wasn't so good, and their lack of security was poor. Also, I didn't mean to be accusatory in asking if O'Neal Magic was republishing Grant's works without credit. Don O'Neal & UF Grant?
In some of my research for the Magic Reference Pages (http://magicref.tripod.com/books.htm), I have run across books by Don O'Neal of O'Neal Magic, that seem to be exact replicas of U.F. Grant publications. For example, there is a book "Trix With Hares by Don O'Neal", and says "Revise...

Hi Jim,
The knives look great! Are there any significant design differences between yours and Joe Mogar's knives? The base knives look very similar, other than your knives not being sharpened.
Just curious!

Re: Your View: ebooks or printed books?
It's all a challenge. Physical books take up a LOT of room, and are thus sometimes relegated to boxes and bins in attics and basements, where they then get moldy or dried out. Or kids find them and draw nice little pictures on them and have fun tearing pages. I have some manuscripts in my collection...

I agree about the medallion. One the one hand, the crest is very common among pocket-knives, so it makes it look more "normal", but on the other hand, the change becomes more than just a color change, but an entire handle change. Some don't like the change from a smooth handle to a stag ha...
