Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us
I haven’t made any statements about a microphone or what my theory of the method is so do please stop arguing with a position I have never taken. You have made multiple statements that you think it uses a stooge and that there’s no real way to prove a stooge wasn’t used. I’m asking you; if their met...

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us
The backstage rehearsals, that take place in the corner of a conference room in the Rio; where a bored assistant producer or crewman from the show stands in as “spectator” - how did the trick work when it was performed there successfully many times (and by definition not a stooge because it’s one of...

Let us assume for a moment that (for the actual in front of p&t taped performance) they did do it using a stooge. … How did they manage to explain the method (in detail) to Mike close to get cleared to even be considered for taping? If they had said “it’s a stooge” they wouldn’t be shortlisted. ...

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us
No Dennis, i'm asking why you think they used two totally different methods (the non-stooge version in all the pre-show discussions and rehearsals, the stooge version exclusively for the taping) which is what they would have had to do to use "a stooge" on this show

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us
In fact, it would be virtually impossible to logically refute the possibility of a stooge in this case. As I pointed out, quite clearly--all that would be necessary to circumvent the rules is to get away with it. And that is as easy as a third party (such as Mr. Hart) training a stooge as well as M...

Re: Astonishing ACAAN on Fool Us
I can only assume you are trolling at this point Dennis? As I and several others have pointed out for this trick to have even been shortlisted to be taped the method would have to be disclosed and signed off by multiple people. You seem to be suggesting that they must have come up with a method that...

This act is “this seasons” presentation of a Martin hart act. The rules of the show (no stooges, no preshow) are absolute and wouldn’t be broken. Martin is also a student / promoter of the Bergas legacy which tips the likely methods to most of what he does. Martin hires a female performer (typically...

I’ve got to put it on record - this show has some of the most beautiful, logical, magical, brilliant pieces of stage magic (and more importantly, stage magic staging) I have ever seen! This sets a standard all stage magic shows should strive to achieve and which shows with 100x the budget couldn't a...

"Critical Flop" is not the phrase I would use when a show is getting three our of four (or five) stars. "Critical flop" is one or two stars. None of the reviews you cite have given the show that low of a rating. "Fair to middling" is the expression I would use, and a m...

It's a poorly edited pair of podcasts - the first one is basically entirely a puff-piece for Tony & IMS. In the second he takes him slightly to task but it is very half-assed and really doesn't come close to taking tony to task until the literal post-script; even then Erik skates around actually...

It would be fair to say that the show as currently presented is quite some distance from the show originally intended/announced. It is also fair to say that the reviews thus far are decidedly 50:50 - a few people rave about it, a few absolutely hate it, a lot in the middle are "it was kinda ok ...

I would argue that coin and money magic are more relevant than any other form of close-up, because it is logical (IMHO) to do magic with money as an impromptu form of entertainment. I’m in my early 40’s- I haven’t carried “change” for several years. There’s a slight grey-zone but anyone under 20 right now won’t have any meaningful concept of coins. If you’re presenting coin magic then unless your effect is just as powerful if the coins could be replaced with “cookies” you shoul...

I'm not sure it's magic - the reason an egg bag works is because an egg is to big (and fragile) to palm and that the bag and your hands can be cleanly shown empty at the same time.
