Re: Best way to get a break above the card second from bottom of the deck?
Use your pinky on the same hand holding the deck, and just pull down. Takes some time to develop the touch to know you've got the required number of cards, but it's a simple and elegant solution that is invisible.

This is not a shock I brought up this issue many years ago and even at the SAM convention in Las Vegas. Not so much difficult as it is knacky.
The one hand version can take some time to make it look good, but I've seen a lot of people get this to a reasonable standard with an hour or so practice.

I heard a funny story a while back (can't recall who the magician was) that released a product and marked the price WAY higher than it should ever have been.
When the illegal knock-offs started coming out of China, he dropped the price to match it, and then there was no reason to buy the fake

So far, he's brutal but honest. This is my favourtie quote:
“If you were attending a class on false deals taught by Erdnase, it couldn’t even be called ‘False Deals 101’. Something like ‘A Few Random Thoughts About A Few Uncommon Deals’ would have been more appropriate. “

The magic community here in Queensland isn't that big, and I've never heard of this fellow. I'm guessing either:
a) He's using a false name
or
b) He's just bought a heap of secrets to resell with no real interest in magic.
My feeling is that it's more likely the latter.

Along with using a cover-all backup (ie: iomega) I'd also suggest scrapping IE and moving onto to something much more stable and reliable.
Something like Mozilla Firefox is, in my opinion, far superior to IE on so many levels. In the two years I've been using it I'm yet to have a hang-up of any kind!
