Performer, thanks, great to see what works in the world. Any opinion of Gary Kurtz's handling of the sleight? Kurtz's thinking, and subsequently his handling, was interesting. Re: A BOOK, A DECK OF CARDS & A DESERTED ISLAND

Bicycle 808s will do me just fine. Red, preferably. And, after careful consideration, Card Craft by J.K. Hartman. That's a nice, thick volume filled with sleights, subtleties, and tricks enough to keep me occupied until the rescue ship arrives. Either that or a volley ball that I can teach to pick a...

This cat really needs to consider scripting and rehearsal before filming. He could easily have condensed his thesis into seven minutes or fewer. That said, the Tarot as an intuitive thinking tool? I can get behind the idea. In fact, I used a Tarot deck once as a corporate training/thinking tool. The...

Doc Daley's last trick. No set up or gimmicks required. Spectators equate aces with magic. It's quick. No time for them to get bored and if you need to go back to work, leave them with a card or just wanting more. In their hands - magnifies the effect. Great lead in to other card tricks. "Pack...

Cool. I got hooked back in the 70s when some publishing house, I cannot recall which, began reprinting The Shadow, and also The Avenger in paperback. It's good to see that Will Murray is involved. He's done a terrific job with The Wild Adventures of Doc Savage series, two of which - so far - have co...

Lately, under similar circumstances, I've been performing Paul Hallas's Under Pressure, from his Card Magic for the Enthusiast book. It's a great quickie. Bones: Spectator selects card; magi removes two possibilities, both wrong; it is noted that the suit of one card and value of another match selec...

Even converted my son to Rush early on and we attended shows together. The loss is profound for those...

Paul Diamond demoed what appears to be similar, if not the same, back in the mid-80s. I've used it ever since. To the best of my recollection he called it a slippery double, but don't quote me. I don't recall him sharing any provenance.
