I had the pleasure of seeing Chad do this live last weekend in Kouvola, Finland.
One thing that might not be obvious from the video is how visual it is even from some distance away: the colors pop out extremely well against the gray border.

Re: Disappointed with On the Slant
I have yet to receive the issue, but I for one am glad that true background is revealed. While I'm certain the trick is an excellent one that Mr. Fields would have been proud of, in general undisclosed misattributions are called forgeries -- and I'm pretty sure you would not credit a trick to Hofzin...

Re: Hank Lee Magic not on a secure server?
It's probably a trivial snafu: the secure server is still there, but login doesn't take you to it.
Edit the URL by hand to start with "https" instead of "http" and you should be good to go.

Re: Triumph
I look forward to seeing Nikodemus and Cugel post a video of culling and stacking four of a kind from a slug. Right, 'cos no one is allowed to critique things they cannot duplicate. There you go, then: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88h646CssHs It's far from perfect, but at least there should be no...

Re: Triumph
We've all been here before. For those of you who have NOT, this is how it goes. 1. Mr B. posts a video of some crappy shuffle work based on the Triumph-shuffle. 2. People try to more-or-less-gently point out some issues with it. 3. Mr B. tells how he has been working on this for 20 years and how it ...

The Georgio Letters by Tony Giorgio, IIRC initially part of the Intermission in Genii Magicana. Started around volume 54 (early 90s.) A column or a series of articles by Simon Lovell in the Magigram around the same time, I think. An index in progress exists, but doesn't reach the right time period y...

Re: Aficionado of a Private Collection

Periodicals, including bounds collections and reprints, are kept separately, alphabetized by the name of the publication. Videos and DVDs are kepth with the books, a...

Re: Pseudonyms
Some potential issues with anonymity are * the increased danger of bad behaviour and flaming: people are lot more likely to act like total asses when their names are not attached to what they are doing. * sock puppetry, but so far that doesn't seem the case here, and it can be controlled by controll...

Re: What is magic?
Robert Neale and Whit Haydn both have said interesting things on this topic. (To add to the names already mentioned.) One thing maybe worth considering is that the results produced by whatever is believed to be "Real Magic" are not unexplainable -- they are "just" magic. That is ...

The site certificate for fasdiu.com has expired, and emails to the contact address given on the site bounce -- as do the postmaster and webmaster addresses (never a good sign.) Can you tell how Sankey's work here compares to Peter Kane's original The Ring in The Card Case, or Gary Plants work on the same? Re: riffle stacking
I'm currently working on my Triumph, so this was of some interest to me -- not the stacking bit as such, but the deceptiveness of Glenn's handling of the Triumph Shuffle itself. I wanted to know how a layman would see Glenn's shuffle. I played it to a friend from 0:17 to the deal, without commentary...
