Re: Magic Castle visit
It all revolves around what time your dinner reservation is and what week you are there. Also, what week are you going? If it's the week starting April 29, just make sure you see the Palace show (Guy Hollingworth, John Gaughan, and Mike Caveney). Ammar is in late Parlour, and he is very good in that...

So it turns out that Lev Schneider died in the mid-1990s.
It's good that we were able to find some videos and other information on him. Too bad it was so late coming.

Do we know much about Schenider's life and career? Not that I am able to find. There are zero responses at my (albeit, low) level of membership on Ask Alexander, and there is very little on the Google. It's pretty clear that he was very good at muscle reading. I suspect, like Kreskin, he all but co...

Lev Schneider - (RIP?)
I have received unconfirmed reports that Lev Schneider, a Russian mentalist who lived in the U.S., has died, but I cannot find anything to confirm it, especially when. Can anyone help with that? Re: Who moderates the Magic Castle public Facebook group?
Does anyone know who is supposed to be moderating the Magic Castle's public Facebook group? The Review section of that group is smothered in spam, making it (IMHO) a disgraceful public face for the Magic Castle and a big turn-off to anyone seeking information about it. I am not seeing that at all. ...

I have added the number of votes received by each board member after their names above. I will be able to publish the voting tallies in its entirety (ballots received, etc.) after the AMA publishes them first in the April AMA Newsletter.

With the final numbers in, and being a colossal dork, we have done some "analysis" of the Dawes auction. There were 448 lots. Three were passed, one appears to have been withdrawn (three Mercedes Talma postcards), making 444 being sold. The total hammer price was $723,030. Add in the 20% p...

Part I of the Dawes Auction has ended, and it was a mixed bag of bargains and "holy moly!" moments. The first of the latter was a third edition of Scot's The Discovery of Witchcraft for $13,000. (Note, all the prices I will quote in this post will be sans premium.) That was quickly eclipse...

Oddly enough as good as David Roth undoubtedly was I noticed on a couple of videos that his French Drop had a lot to be desired. Still nobody is perfect I suppose I've never seen David do the French Drop as anything other than a feint; he would actually take the coin in the right hand Classic Palm,...
